Guatemala was, until recently, a lost birdwatching destination, now the country and its birds are now open to the international birding community to be protected and enjoyed. GTBirding, the number one birding tour operator for the regular bird watcher, is visiting unique destinations across the country to involve each place into the birding activity.

Last week GTBirding went to Livingston,a unique town due to its Afro-Caribbean roots, is characterized by music played on light percussion instruments accompanied by guitars in a paradisiacal setting in front of the sea, is noted, as well, for its unusual mix of Garífuna, Maya, and Latino people and culture.  Lush rainforest, great birdwatching and unique cultures make this a living paradise.

Around the Livingston area, including the Ecological Hotel Salvador Gaviota, and the town itself, GTBirding presented their services and tours to people involved in the birdwatching activity. At the same time, local guides were contacted to stablish a link between GTBirding and the local people.
